NHS Cornwall — children’s community occupational therapy
Who it helps
Children with motor or sensory difficulties significantly affecting daily activities. The referral checklist requires a child under 18, parental consent and a Cornwall GP; catchment exceptions apply.
What is available
Occupational therapy addresses functional difficulties such as dressing, handwriting and play. A diagnosis alone does not establish eligibility.
How to get support
Ask a health or education professional who knows the child to refer with evidence of daily difficulties. Some east/north Cornwall postcodes use Plymouth services, depending on GP registration. NHS sensory integration therapy is not commissioned in Cornwall; home-adaptation OT has a separate route.
