PACE Project exists to help SEND families find clearer information, practical resources and opportunities that can otherwise be difficult to discover.
We are also listening to the experiences of SEND parents and carers so that what families have learned can help those coming behind them.
Trust matters to us.
As PACE grows, these are the principles we intend to work by.
We put parents first
PACE is parent-led and built around the questions families actually ask when they are trying to find support, provision or information for their child.
We aim to make useful information easier to find, understand and navigate — without pretending that there is always one right answer for every child or family.
We respect your information
We will not sell parent personal information.
Information gathered through PACE parent research may be used to identify themes, create parent resources and share anonymised findings.
We will not identify individual parents or children in published research findings.
Where we invite parents to join the PACE mailing list, contact details provided for this purpose will be kept separate from anonymous questionnaire responses.
You can find more information about how we handle personal information in our Privacy Policy.
A PACE listing is not an endorsement
PACE is helping families discover SEND provision, support, activities and opportunities they may not otherwise know about.
A listing on PACE does not mean that PACE has inspected, approved or accredited that provider.
PACE does not guarantee that a particular service or provision will be appropriate for an individual child or young person.
Parents, carers, schools and commissioners should make their own enquiries and checks before choosing or using a provider.
We will be transparent about where information comes from
We want families to have as much context as possible when looking at information on PACE.
Where possible, we aim to make it clear whether listing information has been:
- publicly researched by PACE
- suggested by a parent or member of the community
- supplied or confirmed by a provider
- recently checked or updated
As the SEND Opportunity Finder grows, we want this transparency to be an important part of how PACE works.
Commercial relationships won’t buy our endorsement
PACE may work with providers, partners or sponsors in the future to help fund and develop the project.
If content or a placement has been paid for, we will make that clear.
Payment will not mean that PACE recommends, approves or guarantees a provider.
Our responsibility to families will remain separate from commercial relationships.
We collect only what we need
We aim to collect only the information necessary for the purpose for which it is being requested.
For parent research, we will avoid asking for unnecessary identifying information about children, schools, staff or professionals.
Where we ask for additional information — for example, when someone chooses to join our mailing list — we will explain why we are asking for it.
We are building PACE carefully
PACE is still developing.
The SEND Opportunity Finder is growing as we discover and add provision, and our first parent research project is currently being developed with the help of SEND families.
We would rather build PACE carefully, learn from parents and improve what we are doing than present the project as something more established than it is.
As PACE grows, our services may develop too — but the principles on this page will remain at the heart of what we do.
Clearer information. Transparency about what we know. Respect for parent experiences. And helping families discover things that might otherwise have been difficult to find.
