About Equally Abled

Equally Abled is a Bodmin-based charity providing inclusive social, learning and employment opportunities for children and young people with SEND and disabilities. It offers a welcoming environment where young people can build confidence, develop independence and form lasting friendships.

Activities may include gaming, crafts, workshops, fitness sessions, social events and practical life-skills development. The charity aims to reduce isolation by creating opportunities for young people to connect with others, take part in their community and develop confidence in a supportive setting.

Equally Abled also offers volunteering, training and supported work-related experiences, helping young people build communication, teamwork, responsibility and employability skills while preparing for adulthood and future employment.

Founded by people with lived experience of disability and caring responsibilities, the charity works alongside families, carers and community organisations to develop activities that reflect the needs of local young people. In addition to supporting children and young adults, Equally Abled provides information, guidance and practical support for parents and carers navigating the SEND journey.

Activities take place in Bodmin, with sessions designed for different age groups, including children, teenagers and young adults. Some activities are funded through grants and charitable fundraising, helping to keep many sessions free or low cost. Families are encouraged to contact Equally Abled for the latest timetable, availability and eligibility.
