Short introduction
A fully funded opportunity for disabled people aged 14+ to experience flying from Cornwall Airport Newquay.
The new Cornwall Flying Scholarship is being offered by Flynqy Pilot Training in association with aviation charity Aerobility and Cornwall Airport Newquay.
The scholarship aims to make aviation more accessible to people with disabilities — whether they would simply love to experience flying for the first time or are interested in taking their aviation journey further. Click here to apply
Beginner Scholarship
A fully funded 50-minute flying experience, giving successful applicants the opportunity to take control of an aircraft while flying over Cornwall.
This is designed for people who haven’t flown before and would like to experience what flying is like.
Intermediate Scholarship
Successful applicants receive three hours of formal flight training, introducing them to the fundamentals of aviation.
This is aimed at people who have already experienced flight and would like to take the next step.
Who can apply?
Applicants must:
- be aged 14 or over
- have a disability
The scholarship particularly aims to support local applicants with physical disabilities. Applications are also welcomed from other disabled people, including disabled ex-Forces personnel and people living with terminal illnesses.
Important dates
Applications close: 18 October 2026
Successful scholarships must be used by 30 June 2027.

Fully funded.

You don’t need to be considering a career in aviation to apply for the Beginner Scholarship. It’s an opportunity to experience flying and take control of an aircraft — something many disabled people may never have considered accessible to them.
