Lanjeth Nursery – Growing People CIC
Growing People CIC is a community-focused organisation based at Lanjeth Nursery and Water Gardens, dedicated to improving wellbeing, learning and inclusion through nature. Established as a Community Interest Company in 2025, it was created to expand educational and social opportunities while ensuring that all income is reinvested into projects that benefit the local community.
Set within peaceful natural surroundings, the organisation provides welcoming spaces where people of different ages and abilities can connect with nature, develop new skills and improve their wellbeing.
Current Activities
Forest School – The Dragonfly Centre
Outdoor learning sessions designed primarily for children and young people, helping participants build confidence, resilience, practical outdoor skills, teamwork and a greater understanding of the natural environment.
The Hideaway
A quiet, nature-based space for individuals and small groups of all ages. The Hideaway supports relaxation, emotional wellbeing, mindfulness and opportunities for reflection or therapeutic activities in a peaceful setting.
Plans are also underway to further improve accessibility, including the development of an enhanced Hideaway with step-free access, sensory planting and additional wellbeing gardens so that more people can enjoy the site.

Growing People CIC is committed to:

- promoting inclusion, wellbeing and personal development
- providing educational opportunities that inspire environmental awareness and lifelong learning
- reinvesting all surplus income into community projects and future provision
Sessions are delivered by experienced facilitators who use outdoor learning, nature-based activities, creative experiences and environmental education to support individual growth and wellbeing.
Who Can Benefit?
The provision is suitable for a wide range of community members, including children, young people and adults who may benefit from learning or spending time in a calm outdoor environment. The organisation aims to make its activities as accessible and inclusive as possible, including for people with additional learning, sensory or mobility needs.
Growing People CIC works alongside the commercial operations at Lanjeth Nursery while remaining a separate not-for-profit organisation focused on delivering positive social impact for the community.
This is an approved provision by Cornwall Council.
