The Farming Mother CIC
Supporting SEND Families Through Nature, Learning and Community

The Farming Mother CIC is a community-based organisation dedicated to supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), while also recognising the vital role parents and carers play in helping them thrive.

Founded by a parent with first-hand experience of raising a child with SEND, the organisation was created to address many of the challenges families face, including finding suitable education, accessing appropriate support, and managing the emotional demands that often accompany the SEND journey.
A Family-Centred Approach
The Farming Mother understands that supporting a child with additional needs also means supporting the whole family. Parents are offered guidance, practical resources and a welcoming community where they can connect with others who understand the realities of navigating education, health services and everyday life with a SEND child.

The organisation aims to reduce isolation, build confidence and provide families with information that helps them make informed decisions for their children.
Education Designed Around the Child
Educational sessions are tailored to each child’s individual strengths, interests and learning style rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.

Learning focuses on developing confidence, independence and wellbeing alongside educational progress. Activities are designed to be engaging, flexible and accessible, using practical, outdoor and multi-sensory experiences wherever possible to help children learn in ways that suit them best.

The team also recognises the importance of emotional wellbeing and aims to create a calm, nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued and able to succeed at their own pace.
