Cornwall Early Years Inclusion and SEND

Who it helps

Children aged 0–5 years old with special educational needs or disabilities, their families, and the early years settings that support them. The service covers Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

What support is available

The team helps nurseries, pre-schools and childminders adapt how they support your child. This may involve a visit, showing staff strategies to try, or a short period of targeted support. For some children with more complex, long-term needs, the team may work with the setting and family through the move into Reception.

How to get support

If your child attends an early years setting, speak to their key person, the setting’s SEND coordinator or your childminder first. Your setting or a health professional can help with a referral. If your child isn’t attending a setting, or you’re unsure how referrals work, email eyis@cornwall.gov.uk for advice.
