Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change – TOAST

TOAST is a Post-16 SEND learning and work experience programme run by Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change (CN4C), with provision in Redruth, St Austell and Penzance.

TOAST combines learning, personal development and practical work experience with practical work experience, helping young people develop skills and knowledge for their future. Programmes are designed around individual needs, challenges and aspirations, with an emphasis on involving young people in their own learning.

Age range

The programme provides a nurturing alternative for young people aged 16–18 who may experience difficulties in mainstream education, and for young people up to age 25 with an EHCP.

Alongside education and work experience, TOAST focuses on life skills, personal development and pastoral support. The aim is to help young people build confidence, develop independence and work towards their individual goals and future pathways.

TOAST may be particularly relevant for young people who have found mainstream school or college difficult and would benefit from a smaller, nurturing learning environment.
